Radio Free Athens- Who We Are And What We Do

 

Brad Herring and Steve Cape, started the Radio Free Athens label in the winter of 2006.  We have recorded Athens music since 1973, mostly on ¼” reel to reel tapes live at clubs around Athens. As you probably know, Athens, Georgia has a rich tradition in music. From Terry Melton to The Drive-By Truckers, Athens has given the world great bands and musicians. It is our mission to bring as much older Athens music to the world as we can. We are a non-profit label. Any money we make on CD sales goes to help buy blank CD’s, CD cases, paper, ink cartridges and all the other materials we need to make this music available to you.

441 South right behind the Chevron station. We are open

Monday thru Saturday from 11:30 to 6:00 and 12:00 to 5:00

on Sunday. We are closed on Thursdays. If you have any

old tapes of Athens music, we would like to talk to you about releasing them.
